Craven Thompson & Associates, Inc. is seeking qualified civil engineers with a minimum of 6 to 10 years of experience for the positions of senior engineer and/or project engineer (P.E. preferred).

We offer higher than industry average salaries, great benefits packages (relatively low medical insurance payments for the employee and family) and yearly bonuses. We also understand that besides your professional life you have a personal life and therefore, unlike some companies, do not demand overtime hours unless necessary to meet a deadline. We do however expect a full work week from each employee.

We are looking for civil engineers to assist in the design and management of our governmental and private projects. We undertake storm sewer design, stormwater management system design, water distribution & transmission projects, sanitary gravity collection systems and transmission systems, stormwater master planning, stormwater pumping stations, lift station design, local roadway design and complete streets, and stormwater, sanitary and water computer modeling.

The successful candidate must have experience in the above areas of design (not all of these areas, but a minimum of 2), be a good team player, be able to produce the highest quality of work, have excellent planning, communication and problem solving skills and the ability to adapt to change in priorities and project schedules are just some of the required qualities.

We are currently looking for both senior level and newly licensed Surveyors and Mappers for the expansion of our Professional Survey and project manager positions. These individuals will join the other five PSM’s in the company and maintain on-going projects, continuing survey and engineering contracts, assist in proposals and cost estimates, and will develop new skills or enhance your existing ones with our advanced technology tools. You’ll be connecting with and building new relationships with our long-term clientele and will help in maintaining them. You’ll also be an active participant in the Florida Surveying and Mapping Society as we fully support them.

Craven Thompson & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Florida registered landscape architect, or a landscape designer with the ability to become registered; with 3-10 years of experience.

The position would involve the exciting opportunity to work on a wide variety of both public and private sector projects from conception through construction. Working closely with the other in-house disciplines offers a unique opportunity to learn from the other professions that all interact to make a project a success. South Florida experience is a strongly preferred.

A successful candidate must be proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and LandFX, have excellent graphic communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment, and be responsible, hard-working and self-motivated. Construction administration and LEED – AP certification experience is preferred.

This position requires a minimum of 5-7 years as a Party Chief, with field knowledge and proficiency in Leica and Trimble survey equipment and some office experience with AutoCAD, Excel, and Word software. You need to have the ability to keep schedules and equipment on track, follow up and assist crews with any field problems, manage all survey equipment maintenance, ordering and testing, be flexible as to time scheduling changes, and work with all PSM or CAD Techs to get information from the crews in a timely fashion.

This position is responsible for assisting the Crew Chief in the operation of a field survey crew. Minimum High school diploma or GED required. Must have two (2-3) years of progressive experience in land survey field operations and must be able to operate equipment, maintain safe work environment, protect and maintain the equipment and vehicles, accurately and efficiently collect field data and locate features using Leica Total Stations, Ranger\Recon Survey data Collectors, and Trimble GPS Units. Good technical skills; Possess oriented behavioral traits including being honest, steady, helpful, analytical, a problem solver, likes working alone when required, methodical, consistent, detail oriented, precise, hates mistakes, likes structure.

Some overnight travel may be required. Position requires a lot of walking outside year-round through all kinds of terrain in urban & rural sites and in extreme heat and possible cold weather in South Florida.

This position is responsible for the operation of a field survey crew, taking direction from Surveyors and supplying leadership on the job site, understanding how to perform and complete all different kinds of surveys from boundary, topographic, hydrographic and right-of-way surveys, to aerial, mobile, and terrestrial lidar work. Minimum High school diploma or GED required. Must have two (2-3) years of progressive experience in land survey field operations and must be able to operate equipment, maintain safe work environment, protect and maintain the equipment and vehicles, accurately and efficiently collect field data and locate features using Leica Total Stations, Spectra Survey data Collectors, and Trimble GPS Units. Good technical skills; Possess oriented behavioral traits including honesty, quality, accuracy, thoroughness, Staff safety and maintenance of equipment.

Some overnight travel may be required. Position requires a lot of walking outside year-round through all kinds of terrain in urban & rural sites and in extreme heat and possible cold weather in South Florida.
