The Landscape Architecture Department at Craven Thompson & Associates, Inc. was created in 1985 when its first Registered Landscape Architect joined the team. The Landscape Architecture department was initially created in response to increased public and private concern for natural systems, environmental quality and community appearance. CTA has been actively engaged in Landscape Architecture ever since, resulting in hundreds of important landscape architectural projects in South Florida.

Headed by Mr. Joseph Handley for the last 30 years, the Landscape Architecture department has grown into a full service department tackling challenging landscape architectural projects time and time again. Born and raised in Broward County, Mr. Handley, has always been concerned with providing sustainable, creative design solutions that would survive and flourish through the test of time. This design direction is shared by all of the landscape architects at Craven Thompson.

Craven Thompson’s Landscape Architectural department is proud of our long list of successful developments that we have been involved in over the last 34 years. A few of these such projects include Sawgrass Mills Regional Mall, Miramar Business Center, Broward County Greenways, West Regional Library, Miramar Regional Park, Elan Maison, Plantation Walk, the Sunrise Passive Parks and Sportplex.

We believe time is a critical ingredient for any project, and proper planning minimizes the time in executing a project. We are prepared to provide the Landscape Architectural services in a responsive, creative, professional manner to move the project forward in the shortest possible time.
