Mr. Joseph Handley, P.L.A. is a native South Floridian who has been with Craven Thompson & Associates, Inc. since 1988. Joe has a degree in Ornamental Horticulture from Clemson University and attended the Masters of Landscape Architecture program at Louisiana State University. After working for the City of Coral Springs in the Planning Department, Joe continued his career in the private sector where he has been ever since. Joe became a Florida Registered Landscape Architect in 1990 and has been involved in a broad range of land planning and landscape architectural projects in South Florida for over thirty years. Having worked in both the public and private sectors, Joe is widely familiar with client needs and project requirements and processes. He personally oversees every project of the CTA Planning and Landscape Architecture Department and is responsible for the processing of plats, site plans, rezonings, right-of-way vacations, project entitlements, land use plan amendments as well as the creation of landscape, hardscape and irrigation plans. Utilizing his knowledge of local, state and federal regulations involved in land development, he makes sure that the client’s needs are met, the project is successful and that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
